In recent months hundreds of ordinary people, items, even places suddenly became infused with powers from ancient Gods and Heroes. But all the Monsters and Terrors of Myth also embodied, threaterning to drag everything into darkness. The Avatars of Legend ride again, creating new stories, carving new legends. May their Destinies be Bright.

OOC: An ongoing monthly freeform, intended to run on the 3rd Sunday of each month at the ANU, John Dedman 102, Canberra, ACT.
Arrive 1:30pm for a 2pm start - please lunch beforehand.

Next Game: Sunday 18 November
Summer is almost here, and in the world of the Avatars the papers are full of articles of Beltane the ancient celebration of rebirth and growth.  Most of the Articles agree that in the Southern Hemisphere, we should be celebrating Beltane at this time of year, not some Northern Hemisphere import (Halloween).  Probably appropriate, you think, given that winter is nearly 9 Months away....

A young Lad hands you the following Handwritten Note.  He smiles cheekily and runs away before you can question him.  The note reads

Its Halloween tonight!!!

You're Invited to come and celebrate with us

An eerie atmosphere is guaranteed!!

When: Tonight
Where: The Fortress
Theme: Monstrous

You know that The Fortress is in the centre of evil territory.

What Can this mean....

In the world of Avatars it can mean anything....

Morning Coffee

Pete smiled contentedly over his coffee. It was a perfect Canberra morning and he was in a cafe with the most beautiful woman in the world. Bekka's smile shone back at him like the sun.

Another aura of power caught her attention. "Pete, who's that?" she asked, pointing at a tramp sifting through a dumpster.

"Odin, I think. He looks foreign to me."

"He doesn't look very powerful." Bekka wrinkled her nose.

"Maybe, but I'm learning not to underestimate Avatars" said Pete, "You know, until a few weeks ago I wouldn't have believed any of this. I was a regular guy, a good fencer, but you know, normal. Now I hang out with the living embodiment of Heroes, Gods and Goddesses, some I'd never heard of before. It's incredible."

A howl rang out and a huge dog crashed onto the road outside the cafe.

Bekka recognised its aura instantly, "Cerberus!"

The tramp began racing towards the beast, calling down thunder and lightning. "Well, at least now we know what's been hunting in Turner at night." Pete said, drawing his sword, "Wish me Luck?"

"Good Luck, blessed hero," Bekka kissed him as Aphrodite's power surged through her.

Odin and the great three-headed dog shook the earth with their blows. Pete leapt forward as Apollo swooped down on Pegasus to join the fight.

Pete, newly embodied Avatar of Lancelot, smiled as his sword flashed. "The sun is shining, Aphrodite loves me, and I'm fighting a beast from hell," he thought.

"Could it possibly get any better than this?"
